2019 "Shop with a Cop" Back to School EventPosted: March 28, 2019 The Aurora Police Association is proud to announce our 2019 "Shop with a Cop" Back to School Event. The event will take place at the Walmart on Chambers Rd. in Aurora, the exact date/time to be announced. The program is designed to unite Aurora Police officers and public safety employees with local disadvantaged children for a special day of shopping (details here). Each child is guaranteed new shoes, several outfits of clothing, and backpacks filled with school supplies. Children and families will be carefully selected and screened by a committee of local law enforcement officers. Approximately $200 will be spent on each child. The challenges faced by agency heads and departments to honorably memorialize officers who have died in the line of duty, and care for their families and department personnel are daunting. The sad reality is there will be more, and your agency could be next.
The Colorado Fallen Hero Foundation (CFHF) will bring together multi-agency professionals with a variety of specialized skills to respond,and assist any organization with a memorial service befitting a hero as needed.
